Cielo Pinot Grigio Blush is a 12% ABV rosé wine from the Blu Collection range of Cielo e Terra in Veneto, made from Pinot Grigio grapes under the Delle Venezie DOC designation. The producer now presents this wine as Pinot Grigio Rosé; the Cielo family has been making wine since 1908.

How is rosé made from Pinot Grigio?

Pinot Grigio is a grey-skinned grape related to Pinot Noir. The colour compounds in its skin allow wines in pink and coppery tones to be made from it. Cielo's blush is an interpretation that brings out this natural colour.

What does Cielo Pinot Grigio Blush taste like?

It has an elegant colour in blushing pink tones. Strawberry is noticeable on the nose at first; pink grapefruit, peach and melon notes then open up. The palate is fresh and crisp, with a pleasant minerality joining the sweet touch of red fruits and a lingering finish.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

The producer recommends serving it at 8–10°C and drinking it within one to three years. It pairs well with seafood dishes such as shrimp cocktail, Catalan-style octopus, seafood risotto, ceviche and salmon tartare, as well as with tomato and feta salad and vegetarian sushi.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
