Cielo 9 Frizzante is a 9% ABV lightly sparkling (frizzante) white wine from the Italian wine house Cielo e Terra. The producer presents it as "9° Bianco Frizzante", with light, easy-drinking bubbles carrying fruity, off-dry notes. Rooted in 1908 and based in Veneto, the producer offers white and rosé options at different alcohol levels within its Frizzante series.
What is frizzante?
Frizzante is Italian for "lightly sparkling". It has lower pressure than fully sparkling wines known as spumante; its bubbles are softer and less intense. With its low 9% alcohol, Cielo 9 is one of the lightest members of the series.
What does Cielo 9 Frizzante taste like?
It has a pale straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is refined and intense, with a fruity, lightly off-dry character. The palate is elegant, lightly sparkling and refreshing.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
The producer recommends serving at 8–10°C. It pairs well as an aperitif and with light dishes. It is a refreshing choice alongside summer salads, fresh cheeses, fruit platters and light fruit desserts. Its low alcohol also makes it a light option for daytime gatherings.
