Monte Rosato is a 9% ABV, medium-sweet Italian rosé wine bottled from Italy by the German wine house Peter Mertes. Its label carries the general Italian wine category rather than a specific region, and its soft, fruity style is aimed at those looking for an easy-drinking wine.

How is it made?

The grapes for this wine are hand-picked from sun-drenched slopes and processed in stainless steel tanks to preserve their aromas. As no oak is used, the fruit character remains to the fore. Its low alcohol content and noticeable residual sugar are what set it apart from dry rosés; it is closed with a screw cap.

What does Monte Rosato taste like?

It has a delicate pink colour. Strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant stand out on the nose, with cherry sometimes also felt. On the palate it is silky-textured, harmonious and fresh; the balance between fruit and acidity gives the wine a pleasant liveliness.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It gives its best results served chilled and can be enjoyed comfortably as an aperitif. It pairs well with grilled chicken, fresh salads with goat's cheese and tomato-sauce pastas; its off-dry style also goes well with fruit desserts.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
