Cielo 9 Frizzante Rosé is a 9% ABV semi-sparkling (frizzante) rosé wine from the Italian wine house Cielo e Terra. Within the producer's Frizzante range, it is presented as a light, easy-drinking sparkler with fruity, sweetish notes.
What is frizzante?
Frizzante is Italian for "lightly sparkling". It has lower pressure and softer bubbles than fully sparkling wines known as spumante. Combined with its low alcohol content, this produces a light, refreshing drink. A white version of the range also exists; the Veneto-based producer, whose roots go back to 1908, positions this rosé as a light option that can accompany a meal from start to finish.
What does Cielo 9 Frizzante Rosé taste like?
It is rosé in colour, with a delicate, lightly floral bouquet on the nose. On the palate it is light and fizzy, carrying the fruity, sweetish character typical of the range.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
The producer recommends serving it at 8–10°C and drinking it throughout a meal. It is a refreshing rosé that pairs well with salads, light meze, fresh cheeses and fruit desserts. The producer's 10° range also includes a separate rosé version.
