Cielo Rosato

Cielo Rosato is a rosé wine from the Cielo brand of Cielo e Terra, based in Montorso Vicentino near Vicenza in Italy's Veneto region. Rosato is the Italian word for rosé wine.

Who is Cielo e Terra?

The Cielo family's winemaking story begins in 1908, when Giovanni Cielo founded a small winery opposite the castles of Romeo and Juliet. In 1962, second-generation Piero Cielo and his sons established today's winery in Montorso Vicentino. In 1999, the family company took the name Cielo e Terra by forming a joint venture with the Cantine dei Colli Berici cooperative, founded in 1951 and today representing over a thousand grower-partners.

How is rosé wine made?

Rosé wine is made by briefly macerating red grapes with their skins; this short contact gives the wine its pale pink colour and fresh fruit character. As Cielo's rosé range includes both still and lightly sparkling options, please check the label for the bottle's style, sweetness level and alcohol content.

What food does it pair with?

Rosé wines are served at 8–10°C. Meze, salads, pizza and pasta with fish dishes are classic partners for light rosés.
