Boğaz (Bogaz) is a small harbour village where the Famagusta–Karpaz road meets the sea. With its fishing harbour, fish restaurants that fill up in the early evening and a growing number of holiday complexes, it's one of the liveliest corners of the İskele district coast. The Bafra hotel strip is a short drive north, so Jastin Off Licence's Bafra branch is our nearest branch to Boğaz: roughly 8–12 km, depending on your street.
How Boğaz orders
On this stretch of coast the table is usually laid with fish and meze, so the favourites are raki, chilled white wine and ice-cold beer. Holiday-home owners stock up for weekend guests with a bottle or two of raki, plus soda and şalgam (spicy turnip juice). People heading out on boats pick up cold water, soft drinks and a few beers early in the morning. Please check the rules on drinking at sea with your skipper and the harbour authorities.
What to order
- Raki: 35 cl, 70 cl and large bottles for a fish supper.
- White and rosé wine: carried with care to keep it cold.
- Beer: single bottles, six-packs or cases.
- Soda, tonic, juice and nuts.
Finding you
Street names in Boğaz aren't always obvious. The easiest thing is to send a live location on WhatsApp, or give the complex name, villa number or a well-known restaurant nearby. If you'd like to meet right by the harbour, we can arrange that too.
Boğaz through the seasons
In summer, holiday-home owners multiply the population several times over. At weekends the coast road gets busy and the fish restaurants fill up, and evening orders rise too. If you have weekend plans, sending your list on Friday makes life easier. In winter the village goes quiet and most orders come from retirees who live here all year and from families who work in İskele but live in Boğaz. A typical basket: a bottle of whisky, a few bottles of red and the weekly beer. We deliver in the same way to houses towards Kalecik and to complexes on the hill above Boğaz. Can't decide what to drink with the fresh fish from the harbour? Ask on WhatsApp and we'll help you choose between raki and white wine.
Delivery and payment
Even though we're close, no order leaves without confirmation. Once you confirm by WhatsApp or phone (+90 539 138 15 62), the time and any charge are fixed according to that day's orders. We check age (18+) on delivery. You can pay cash in Turkish lira, pounds sterling, euros or US dollars, or by credit card. If you'd rather come in, our Bafra branch is open Tuesday to Sunday 09:00–02:00 and Monday 09:00–00:00.
Neighbouring areas: Bafra Tourism Zone to the north, İskele & Long Beach to the south and Mehmetçik and Büyükkonuk inland.
