Bestué Calabeso Rosé

Bestué Calabeso Rosé is a 12% ABV rosé wine made from 100% Garnacha grapes by Bodega Otto Bestué in the village of Enate, Huesca, in the D.O. Somontano region of north-east Spain. Garnacha is the most widely grown local grape in Somontano, used for both young, light wines and wines built for long ageing.

How is it made?

The grapes come from the 2-hectare Finca El Plano vineyard; sandy-loam, stony soils with very high drainage slow ripening. Harvest takes place in the coolest hours, in the early morning, between mid- and late August. The must is drawn directly by press, avoiding prolonged skin contact, and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 16–18°C for maximum freshness.

What does Calabeso Rosé taste like?

It has a copper-toned colour, pale pink with orange reflections. The nose forms an elegant bouquet of stone fruit, red fruit, flowers and citrus. The palate shows lightness, volume and freshness; its pronounced persistence and balanced acidity give it a long, characterful drink.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

The producer recommends serving at 9–12°C. It is ideal for drinking by the glass, with light tapas and meze; it also pairs well with seafood rice dishes such as paella.
