Cielo Merlot is a 12.5% ABV red wine from the Cielo 1908 Classic series of Cielo e Terra in Veneto, made from Merlot grapes classified as Trevenezie IGT. Trevenezie is a broad geographical designation in north-eastern Italy covering Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino. Merlot is one of the world's most popular red grapes, prized for its soft tannins and fruity character.

What does Cielo Merlot taste like?

It is ruby red in colour. Raspberry and blueberry notes stand out on the nose. The palate offers a fruity, rounded structure; its soft drinkability makes it a red that can comfortably accompany a whole meal.

Who is Cielo e Terra?

The Cielo family has made wine since 1908. The family presents its Classic series with a "family feel" approach; the series offers an innovative take on the region's traditional wines. Cielo Merlot is produced in 0.75 and 1.5-litre bottles.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

The producer recommends serving at 14–16°C, throughout the meal, especially with red meats; it notes that bottles left to breathe pair well with roasts. Everyday dishes such as pasta and pizza are also good accompaniments for this rounded Merlot.
