Bottega Millesimato Brut is an 11% ABV vintage-dated (millesimato) sparkling wine made by the Italian company Bottega in Veneto. It is made from grapes from a single year's harvest and bottled in the dry, brut style.
How is it made?
The grapes are hand-picked and go through a very gentle pressing using the white-wine method, with skins separated from the must immediately. The sparkling wine is made directly from the must; fermentation takes place at low temperature. Bottega was founded in 1977 by master distiller Aldo Bottega, a family company that started with grappa and became known over time for Prosecco and sparkling wines.
What does Bottega Millesimato Brut taste like?
It has a straw-yellow colour and fine, persistent bubbles. Fruits such as apple and peach stand out on the nose, alongside elegant acacia-blossom notes. The palate offers a dry, lively, fresh structure; its very soft drinkability is rounded out by a pleasant salinity and balanced acidity.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
It is recommended to serve at 4–5°C in a flute glass. It suits aperitifs and cocktails; it pairs well with dishes such as caprese salad, seasonal vegetable pasta and roast turkey.
