Koskenkorva Climate Action is a 40% ABV vodka produced at the distillery in the village of Koskenkorva, Finland, from barley grown entirely through regenerative farming. The brand is the climate-themed member of the Koskenkorva family within the Anora group's portfolio.
The vodka's raw material, barley, is grown using regenerative methods on Jari Eerola's farm in southern Finland. In this method, keeping the soil continuously covered with vegetation helps bind atmospheric carbon dioxide back into the soil. The Koskenkorva distillery has produced vodka since the 1950s and is known for an efficient production process that uses almost all of its raw material and draws a significant share of its energy from bio-waste. The brand has also announced plans to provide regenerative farming training to its contract farmers.
It is colourless; Finnish state monopoly Alko describes this vodka as warm, dry and grainy. The taste is clear and light, with a fine touch of black pepper felt at the end.
It can be enjoyed chilled and neat, or as a long drink with tonic, soda and fresh citrus. It pairs well with fish and seafood, meze platters and fresh cheeses.
