Koskenkorva Blueberry is a 21% ABV blueberry liqueur from Finland's Koskenkorva brand, part of the Anora Group, made with wild blueberries gathered from Finnish forests and natural cardamom essence. The producer describes this liqueur as full-bodied and sweet with a natural taste; retail sources also note it is suitable for vegan products.
The Koskenkorva name comes from the Koskenkorva distillery in Finland's Ilmajoki region, where the brand's base alcohol is obtained from barley by continuous distillation.
What does Koskenkorva Blueberry taste like?
An intense, fruity taste of wild blueberry stands out on the palate; cardamom essence adds a light, sweetish spice touch to it. Its body is full and the sweetness is balanced by the fruit's natural character.
How should it be served?
Well chilled, it can be drunk neat in small glasses or over ice. Retail sources recommend it alongside desserts and coffee; a light long drink made with soda or a blueberry martini also brings out the fruit aroma.
What does Koskenkorva Blueberry pair well with?
Its intense fruit and light spice character forms a natural match with desserts. Blueberry pie, fruity cheesecake and bitter-chocolate desserts pair well with it as an after-dinner liqueur.
