Koskenkorva Blueberry Juniper

Koskenkorva Blueberry Juniper is a 37.5% ABV blueberry- and juniper-flavoured vodka from the Koskenkorva brand, part of Finland's Anora Group. The producer describes it as a flavoured vodka carrying gin-like nuances from the juniper. The Koskenkorva vodka at its base is built on grain alcohol produced by continuous distillation from local barley at the Koskenkorva distillery in Ilmajoki.

What does Koskenkorva Blueberry Juniper taste like?

The nose is rich, spiced and fruity, with blueberry, juniper and pine needle notes accompanied by a light citrus touch. On the palate the structure is soft, fresh and balanced: natural blueberry and juniper flavours are felt along with a light lime. According to the producer, blueberry brings freshness while juniper's light bitterness provides balance. Finnish state monopoly Alko summarises the profile as warm, medium-dry, with blueberry and juniper notes.

How is it served?

It can be drunk neat and cold as a shot, or used in cocktails. Because of its juniper character, the producer especially recommends it as a gin-and-tonic-style long drink with tonic, lemon and fresh blueberries.

What does Koskenkorva Blueberry Juniper pair with?

Its juniper and citrus notes pair well with light dishes typically matched with gin. Grilled fish and seafood, and herb-dressed, lemony salads, also make a good accompaniment alongside a tonic-based long drink.
