Koskenkorva Espresso is a 21% ABV coffee liqueur made by combining vodka distilled in the Finnish village of Koskenkorva with real Arabica coffee. This liqueur, from the Anora Group brand, is listed among the coffee liqueurs at Alko and is listed as a vegan product.

How is it made?

The base of Koskenkorva liqueurs is vodka obtained through continuous distillation of local barley at the village distillery. The producer blends this vodka with real Arabica coffee and select ingredients to create an intensely aromatic, full-bodied liqueur.

What does Koskenkorva Espresso taste like?

The producer describes the taste as full-bodied, dark-roast coffee, with soft notes of bitter chocolate and caramel behind it. Alko's tasting profile also speaks of a dark brown, smooth, sweet and full-bodied structure, with notes of bitter chocolate, light nuttiness, roast and espresso.

How is it served?

Given its intense aroma, the producer particularly recommends this liqueur for the Espresso Martini: shaking the liqueur with ice is enough to produce a ready cocktail with a foam on top. It can also be used neat, over ice, or in milky coffee drinks.

What desserts does it pair with?

The roasted coffee and bitter chocolate notes suit desserts such as tiramisu, brownies and chocolate cake. Toasted hazelnuts or almonds are also a simple accompaniment alongside an after-dinner glass.
