Cricova Muscat

Cricova Muscat is a semi-dry (demi-sec), 12.5% ABV white sparkling wine made from white Muscat grapes by Cricova, Moldova's renowned wine house. It's part of Cricova's varietal sparkling wine range and brings the Muscat grape's distinctive aroma together with a sparkling, refreshing structure.

Getting to know Cricova

Cricova is a Moldovan wine house located in the town of the same name, roughly 15 km north of the capital, Chișinău. Its cellars are an underground network formed when old limestone quarries, mined for centuries, were converted into a wine store in the 1950s, reaching a length of roughly 120 km and staying at a constant temperature of around 12°C year-round.

The company is also known for its long experience in sparkling wine production; Muscat is the aromatic, fruity member of this family.

What does Cricova Muscat taste like?

The wine shows fine, lively bubbles in a pale gold colour. Ripe grape notes stand out on the nose. On the palate, a light sweetness and pleasant freshness are felt within a harmonious structure; the finish is long and soft.

How is it served?

As with sparkling wines, serving it well chilled in tall, narrow glasses preserves the bubbles and aroma for longer. It's a fitting choice for toasts at celebrations and gatherings.

Which foods does it pair with?

Thanks to its light sweetness, it offers a balanced match with fruit desserts, fruit platters and fresh, soft cheeses.
