Cricova Papyrus Sauvignon Blanc

Cricova Papyrus Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes by Cricova, Moldova's renowned wine house. Bottles in the Papyrus range are presented individually hand-wrapped in the paper covering that gives the series its name; this packaging makes the range easily recognisable on shelves.

Who is Cricova?

Cricova is a Moldovan wine house located in the town of the same name, roughly 15 km north of the capital, Chișinău. Its cellars are an underground network formed when old limestone quarries, mined for centuries, were converted into a wine store in the 1950s, reaching a length of roughly 120 km and staying at a constant temperature of around 12°C year-round.

Cricova's paper-wrapped range is an accessible, everyday-table part of the producer's wide wine selection.

What kind of wine does the Sauvignon Blanc grape make?

Sauvignon Blanc is a white grape variety known worldwide for its lively acidity and aromatic structure. Wines made from this grape generally offer a fresh, crisp and refreshing drinking experience; for this reason they are mostly consumed young.

How is it served?

As is generally accepted for white wines, it's recommended served well chilled. Keeping it closed in the fridge after opening preserves its freshness.

Which foods does it pair with?

Sauvignon Blanc's refreshing structure is a well-known match for grilled fish and seafood, green salads and fresh cheeses.
