Sevilen Karadut Şarabı is a fruit wine made with black mulberry by Sevilen, an established İzmir-based producer. Black mulberry, known for its deep purple colour and intense fruity taste, defines this wine's character.

About the producer

Sevilen Şarap Sanayi was founded in 1942 by İsa Güner, who trained in viticulture and winemaking in Bulgaria, and is today run by the third generation of the Güner family. The company produces from Aegean vineyards around İzmir and high-altitude vineyards on the Anatolian plateau. Alongside its grape wines, Sevilen also sells fruit wines made from blackberry, black mulberry, blueberry, pomegranate and sour cherry.

What is fruit wine?

Fruit wine is the general term for wines made by fermenting the juice of fruits other than grapes. Black mulberry is a dark-coloured fruit loved in Anatolia in the form of molasses, syrup and jam; it lends the wine its intense colour and ripe fruit tones. We recommend checking the bottle label for technical details such as alcohol content and sweetness level.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It is suitable to serve chilled. It can be served with chocolate desserts, fruit tarts and mature cheeses, or in small glasses after a meal.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
