Saaremaa Raspberry Gin (labelled "Saaremaa RAS Gin") is a 37.5% ABV raspberry gin made by Anora Estonia in Estonia. It is one of the fruity gins in the Saaremaa range. The producer states the raspberry flavour comes from an essence obtained from natural raspberries, and that the product is suitable for vegan consumption.
The gin is distilled using the pot still method. Classic gin botanicals are used in the recipe: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root and lemon peel. Raspberry essence is added to this base to give it a fruity character.
The sweet, juicy aroma of ripe raspberry stands out on the nose, accompanied by light citrus notes and juniper traces. On the palate, a lightly sweet, pleasant raspberry taste combines with fresh citrus and lively juniper. The result is a balanced drink between fruit and gin character.
The producer recommends adding one part gin to three parts tonic in a glass full of ice, garnished with a slice of lemon and lemon peel. It can also be used in spritz- and sour-style cocktails.
Its raspberry, citrus character pairs well with red-fruit desserts, fresh cheeses and fruity green salads.
