Maison Castel ICE Cuvée Rosée is a French wine group Castel's off-dry rosé sparkling wine, offered under its Maison Castel brand and designed to be drunk over ice. It is made from a blend of selected French grapes and produced at Castel's 60-year-old sparkling wine facility in Burgundy.
What is the ICE series?
ICE wines are sparkling wines prepared to be served with ice added to the glass, or used in cocktails. ICE Cuvée Rosée contains 45 grams of residual sugar per litre; this sweetness helps the wine keep its aroma and balance even as the ice melts. It is labelled vegan-friendly.
What does Maison Castel ICE Cuvée Rosée taste like?
It has a lively, deep pink colour with purple reflections and fine, active bubbles. The nose combines fresh fruit such as raspberry, pomegranate and redcurrant with light floral notes. The initial liveliness is followed by an elegant, well-structured drink with pronounced red-fruit character and a silky texture.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
The producer recommends serving at 7–8°C, on its own, over ice or in a cocktail. It pairs well as an aperitif and with desserts; fruity desserts and biscuits are good matches.
