Armand de Brignac Brut Gold is a 12.5% ABV prestige Champagne produced by the Armand de Brignac house in Chigny-les-Roses, in France's Champagne region. Brut Gold, the house's first cuvée, has become the brand's signature with its gold-coloured bottle.
How is it made?
Brut Gold is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier. In keeping with Champagne tradition, wines from three different vintages are combined: half the blend comes from the harvest year, the other half from two older reserve vintages. It is bottled in the brut style with a dosage of 9 grams per litre.
What does Armand de Brignac Brut Gold taste like?
Warm brioche, ripe stone fruit and citrus blossom are felt on the nose. The palate opens with layers of peach, apricot, lemon zest, vanilla and acacia honey. Its rich, balanced structure is completed by a lively freshness and a very long finish.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
It is served well chilled, in a tulip or flute glass. Caviar, fresh oysters, butter-poached lobster, roast chicken and mature Comté cheese are among the producer's recommended pairings.
