Kavaklıdere Selection Beyaz is a dry white wine at 13% ABV made by Kavaklıdere by blending Narince grapes from Tokat with Emir grapes from Nevşehir. It's matured for eight months in French oak casks and belongs to the producer's Selection range.

What's the story behind Selection Beyaz?

Selection Beyaz has been made since 1988. Founded in 1929 in Ankara's Kavaklıdere neighbourhood, the company aimed with this range to offer fuller-bodied wines, matured in cask, made from Anatolia's native grapes. Today the range includes this white alongside a red blended from Öküzgözü and Boğazkere.

What does Selection Beyaz taste like?

Narince's fullness and Emir's freshness combine with the time spent in oak to create a complex aroma structure. On the palate it's balanced and lingering; its finish is long. Cask maturation gives the wine a fuller body than younger whites.

How is it served?

According to the producer, the ideal serving temperature is 7-8°C. Bottles are recommended to be stored lying flat, at 12-15°C.

Which foods does it pair with?

Its full structure, carrying cask influence, accompanies sauced fish dishes, white meats such as chicken and turkey, and mature cheeses.
