Andes Sauvignon Blanc is a 12.5% ABV dry white wine offered by the German wine company Peter Mertes from Chile's Valle Central (Central Valley) region. It is made from single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc grapes and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fruity, fresh character.

What does Andes Sauvignon Blanc taste like?

Sauvignon Blanc's typical green aromas — gooseberry, green pepper and freshly cut grass — stand out on the nose. The palate offers green apple and citrus fruits in a fresh, lively drink. Ageing in stainless steel brings the wine's fruity character and finesse to the fore.

Why does the Valle Central matter?

The Valle Central is a broad valley stretching between the Andes and the coastal mountain range, accounting for much of Chile's wine production. A temperate climate and cool nights help concentrate Sauvignon Blanc's green apple and citrus aromas.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

It is suitable to serve chilled, at around 8–10°C. It pairs well with light dishes such as lemon-grilled fish and courgette risotto with fresh herbs. Green salads and seafood also suit its lively acidity.
