Marengo Brut is a white brut sparkling wine produced by Odesavinprom in facilities in Odessa, Ukraine, as a brand of Bayadera Group, one of Ukraine's major drinks companies. It is made from a blend of white grape varieties; the brand emphasises that it interprets its sparkling wines in an Italian style and technique.
What does Marengo Brut taste like?
It appears pale straw yellow in the glass, with fine, light bubbles. A delicate, floral aroma stands out on the nose. The palate offers a fresh, soft and light drink; fruit notes are pronounced but measured, giving no impression of sweetness. On the finish, a lively acidity leaves a refreshing sensation. As a brut wine, its sugar content is low, appealing to fans of dry sparkling wine.
How should it be served?
The retailer recommends chilling to 7–9°C and serving in tall, narrow flute glasses. Resting the unopened bottle in an ice bucket or refrigerator for a few hours before opening helps preserve the bubbles for longer. It can be chosen both for a toast at celebrations and as an aperitif at the start of dinner.
What food does it pair with?
Its light body and lively acidity pair well with seafood. Fresh cheeses, nut platters, fresh fruit and forest fruit are also simple options that can accompany this sparkling wine.
