Marengo Mojito White is a 15% ABV white sweet vermouth with mint and lime flavours inspired by the Mojito cocktail, produced by Ukrainian wine maker Koblevo in the Mykolaiv region. On the product label it is classified as a dessert vermouth; it is not itself a ready-to-drink cocktail, but a flavoured wine that is quickly turned into a Mojito-style drink with ice and soda.
What is in it?
The ingredient list includes grape wine, sugar and rectified ethyl alcohol, along with a wine-alcohol infusion prepared with herbs such as coriander, mint, thyme, lemon balm, wormwood, fennel, elderflower, marjoram and nutmeg. Ginger extract, lime-mint extract, and lemon and other citrus extracts are also added. The product contains around 16% sugar and contains sulphites.
What does Marengo Mojito White taste like?
According to the producer's description, spiced herbs and refreshing mint stand out on the nose. It leaves a fresh taste on the palate; the finish is citrusy.
How is it served, and what does it pair with?
The producer's recommendation is to serve it with plenty of ice, soda and a slice of lime. Its sweet structure pairs well with fruit-based desserts and fresh fruit, as well as light meze platters as an aperitif.
