J.P. Wiser's 10 Yıl

J.P. Wiser's 10 Year Old Triple Barrel is a 40% ABV Canadian whisky matured for at least 10 years, from J.P. Wiser's, Canada's oldest continuously produced whisky brand, dating back to 1857. The brand has been part of the Pernod Ricard group since 2005 and is managed in Canada by Corby Spirit and Wine.

J.P. Wiser's approach

According to Pernod Ricard, the brand's traditional Canadian rye whiskies are made from grains grown in the Great Lakes region. Founder J.P. Wiser's most important legacy was resting his whisky longer than other producers of his time; the 10-year-old expression carries on this approach.

What does it taste like?

On the nose, honeycomb, freshly baked bread, melon and a light dry oak stand out. On the palate, buttery corn, caramel confectionery, nutmeg, a five-spice blend and lemon peel are felt. On the finish, corn and caramel sweetness linger for a long time.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails such as the Old Fashioned and Boulevardier. Its sweet character pairs well with barbecued food, grilled chicken and caramel desserts. A single large ice cube cools the whisky without diluting it too much, preserving its caramel notes.
