Pike Creek 10 Year Old is a 42% ABV Canadian whisky produced at the Hiram Walker distillery in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, matured for at least 10 years and then finished in rum casks. It belongs to the Pernod Ricard group.

What does a rum-cask finish add?

After completing its main maturation, the whisky is transferred for a further period to casks that previously held rum. This final stage adds a caramel-like, tropical-leaning sweetness to the Canadian whisky's soft grain character. Rum Barrel Finish 10 Year Old was named category winner at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards.

What does it taste like?

According to Master of Malt's notes, honeyed raisin and pecan are felt on the nose, with a grassy rye spice behind. On the palate, old-fashioned cola confectionery, cardamom, caramel and a pronounced rum impression appear. The finish lingers with brown sugar and dry oak.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It can be enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water, or on the rocks. Its sweet, spiced character pairs well with barbecued food, grilled red meat and chocolate desserts. Drinking it at room temperature in a tulip-shaped glass makes it easier to notice the sweet, fruity notes from the rum cask.
