Dimple 15 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky bottled by John Haig & Co., part of Diageo, made from whiskies matured for at least 15 years. The Glenkinchie malt from the Lowlands forms the foundation of the blend, joined by whiskies from distilleries further north.

What sets Dimple apart?

The name Dimple comes from the triangular, dimpled bottle design that Haig began using in the late 19th century. This thick glass bottle, wrapped in gold netting, is the brand's signature. The blend goes through a long marrying period, which gives the whisky a rich, soft and complex character. One review notes the blend has an above-average malt content.

What does Dimple 15 Year Old taste like?

It has a colour of light amber, between orange and gold. On the nose, floral notes stand out along with buttery confectionery and caramel sweetness, with a dry woody note underneath. The palate is medium-bodied; the buttery caramel and confectionery character is joined by light peppery spice and dry wood. The finish is measured and lightly warming.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with a few drops of water. Its caramel and oak notes pair well with grilled red meat and mature cheeses; it also makes an enjoyable after-dinner match with nuts.
