Ballantine's Finest

Ballantine's Finest is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky from Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard), made by blending more than 40 malt and grain whiskies to a recipe that has kept its essence since 1910. The producer describes this blend as the brand's iconic, core whisky.

What does Ballantine's Finest taste like?

It has a pale gold colour. Honey and light spice are felt on the nose. On the palate, milk chocolate, red apple and vanilla stand out; the overall profile is balanced, soft and lightly sweet. The finish is fresh and round. The blend has won gold at the Global Spirits Masters, silver at the International Spirits Challenge and bronze at the World Whisky Awards.

Why is the bottle angular?

Ballantine's Finest's angular bottle is one of the brand's best-known symbols. According to a story told by the producer, this shape was chosen so that bottles could fit easily into briefcases during America's Prohibition era.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, and it is also often used in mixes such as whisky and cola, Whisky Sour and Whisky Smash. Its lightly sweet character goes well with barbecued and grilled food, nut platters and easygoing meals such as pizza.
