William Peel

William Peel is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky prepared by the French Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits (MBWS) group by blending malt and grain whiskies. It is known as France's best-selling Scotch whisky brand.

The story of William Peel

The brand was born within William Pitters International, founded by Bernard Magrez in Bordeaux in 1964. In the 2000s, ownership of the brand passed to Marie Brizard et Roger, and later to the group's current form, Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits. The whisky is distilled in Scotland and matured in oak casks; selected malt and grain whiskies are blended to achieve the brand's round, balanced character. MBWS counts William Peel among the world's best-selling blended Scotch brands and states that the brand has also grown particularly in Poland and Lithuania.

What does William Peel taste like?

Its aroma is light and delicate, giving a floral impression with a vanilla-confectionery sweetness. On the palate, a grainy character appears alongside a sweetness reminiscent of peach poached in vanilla syrup, along with caramel; the structure is balanced and round.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, or prepared as a long drink with soda or ginger ale. It pairs easily with barbecued food, nuts and meze platters.
