Cornaro Gin

Cornaro Gin is a London Dry-style gin produced by Mey İçki Sanayi Ltd., based in Northern Cyprus, with botanical and aromatic notes to the fore. The producer recommends this gin especially for cocktail culture and gastronomy.

Mey İçki offers two gins under the Cornaro brand: the classic London Dry and Mulberry Pink, enriched with mulberry flavouring. According to the company, base alcohol from European suppliers is used in gin production, and distillation is planned to preserve the botanical flavours and achieve a soft, aromatic finish. Since 1975, Mey has expanded its production, which began with Zivania and raki, to also cover vodka, gin and whisky.

What does London Dry gin mean?

London Dry describes a production method: the flavour of juniper and other botanicals passes into the alcohol during distillation, and after distillation nothing but water and a very small amount of sugar may be added, with no further colour or flavour. The resulting gin has a dry, distinctly juniper-forward and clean profile.

How should it be served, and which foods does it pair well with?

A gin and tonic over plenty of ice is a suitable base, as are classic cocktails such as the Martini or Negroni. Its dry, herbaceous character pairs well with fish and seafood, fresh salads and sushi.
