Bestué Garnacha is a 13.5% ABV red wine made by Bodegas Otto Bestué from 100% Garnacha grapes in Somontano DO, in Spain's Aragon region. The grapes come from the 5-hectare Finca San Vicente vineyard in the Enate valley. Garnacha is the most widely grown local variety in Somontano.

How is it made?

Harvest takes place in the last week of September, during the cool hours. After destemming, the grapes undergo six days of cold maceration at 8°C; fermentation proceeds slowly and under control, with pump-overs twice a day, not exceeding 28°C. The wine is then moved to barrel to complete malolactic fermentation and ages for four months in oak.

What does Bestué Garnacha taste like?

Its red colour with violet reflections shows its youth. The nose offers pronounced ripe fruit such as plum, blueberry and raspberry alongside balsamic notes. The palate is light and fresh; the red fruit and spice aromas typical of Garnacha are pronounced.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

It is suitable to serve at around 15–16°C. The producer recommends pairing it with grilled or roasted meats, stews, pulse-based dishes and mature cheeses.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
