Talisker Storm

Talisker Storm is a no-age-statement, 45.8% ABV single malt Scotch whisky produced by Diageo at the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye. Within the family of a distillery that has made whisky by the sea since 1830, it is positioned, as its name suggests, as the darker, smokier and stormier expression.

What makes Talisker Storm stand out?

The producer describes Storm through notes of wood, salty sea water and spice that evoke standing in the middle of a storm breaking over the sea. Classic Talisker's peppery, maritime signature meets a more intense layer of smoke here; it is prepared for those who love smoky island whiskies and want a deeper profile.

What does Talisker Storm taste like?

The nose is powerful and clean, growing more complex like a gathering storm: sweet malt and ripe red fruit come first, followed by smoke, salty sea air and a burst of pepper. The medium-bodied palate is soft and rich at first, then becomes distinctly spicy; sweetness wrapping the tongue merges with a nutty smoke. The finish is drier and medium in length, leaving traces of lightly peated embers at the end.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

It can be drunk neat, or opened up with a few drops of water to release its intense aromas. Its smoky, spicy character makes a strong match with barbecued meats, grilled red meat and mature hard cheeses.
