Talisker Skye

Talisker Skye is a no-age-statement, 45.8% ABV single malt Scotch whisky produced by Diageo at the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye. Dedicated to the island's varied landscape, from its soft coastlines to the jagged peaks of the Cuillin mountains, it is positioned as the softer, sweeter face of the Talisker family.

What makes it different?

Talisker Skye is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher share of toasted casks. This choice preserves the distillery's maritime, peppery signature while offering a rounder, sweeter profile. It is an accessible first step for those wanting to explore Talisker's smoky world.

What does Talisker Skye taste like?

The nose shows fresh orange's citrus sweetness turning into soft mango; beneath it, seaweed, driftwood, salt and sea air are felt. The palate is soft and sweet at first, with a light smoke wrapping the tongue; it then moves to a sharper, salty-savoury and warm spice. The finish is medium in length and drier, leaving traces of lightly peated embers at the end.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water. Its maritime, citrusy character pairs particularly well with fish and seafood, especially grilled or smoked fish; it also makes a balanced match with mature cheeses.
