Talisker 10 Year Old is a 45.8% ABV, 10-year-old single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Talisker Distillery, owned by Diageo, on the Isle of Skye. Coming from the oldest still-working distillery on Skye, this whisky is known for its smoky, maritime character and a pronounced black-pepper finish.
What makes Talisker 10 different?
Talisker is made on a coastline shaped by wind and sea, and is known as a malt that carries that wild environment into the glass. It combines peat smoke, sea salt and citrus sweetness with dried fruit, malt and warm pepper. Its ABV of 45.8%, a little higher than standard whiskies, gives its aromas an extra intensity.
What does Talisker 10 Year Old taste like?
The nose combines powerful peat smoke, sea-salt salinity, fresh oyster liquor and citrus sweetness. The palate offers a rich dried-fruit sweetness, billowing smoke and strong barley malt; warming and intense, with an explosion of black pepper at the back of the mouth. The finish is very long, warming and peppery, leaving a pleasant sweetness.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
It can be enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water, or on ice. Its maritime character makes a classic pairing with seafood such as oysters and mussels, grilled fish and mature cheeses.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
