The Scotch Blue name was first used in South Korea in 1997 by Lotte Chilsung Beverage.

The brand's history

Lotte Chilsung states that it built Scotch Blue with blend whiskies brought from Scotland, designed to highlight a smooth character and a rich aroma. The brand, which also has 21- and 30-year-old prestige expressions in Korea, has reached a wide consumer base in Turkey and North Cyprus, where sales are handled by the SDI Group. SDI Group presents Scotch Blue as a balanced Scotch blend prepared using traditional blending techniques.

What does a long maturation change?

Over a long cask period such as twenty years, the whisky interacts more with the oak, generally resulting in a darker colour, a softer texture and aromas developing towards dried fruit, oak and spice. For this reason, whiskies of this kind are mostly drunk neat.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It is recommended to serve it at room temperature, neat or with a few drops of water. It pairs enjoyably after a meal with mature cheeses, dark-chocolate desserts and nuts.
