Scotch Blue International is a no-age-statement blended Scotch whisky launched by Lotte Chilsung Beverage in 1998. Presented as the entry-level product in the brand's range, it is marketed for its smooth character; in Turkey and North Cyprus, Scotch Blue whiskies are known through the SDI Group.

The story of Scotch Blue International

The Scotch Blue brand was born in 1997 with the 21-year-old expression, and International was added a year later. Lotte Chilsung describes the product as a smooth whisky suited to the palate, stating that it prepares the blend with whiskies brought from Scotland. The range also includes the 17-year-old Special, and 21- and 30-year-old expressions. SDI Group positions Scotch Blue as a well-loved, balanced Scotch blend in Turkey and North Cyprus.

What is blended Scotch?

Blended Scotch is obtained by combining malt and grain whiskies distilled in Scotland and matured in oak casks for at least three years. Blends carrying no age statement generally aim for a soft profile well suited to everyday drinking and mixed drinks.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It can be preferred on the rocks, with soda, or as a long drink with cola or ginger ale. It pairs well with barbecued food, meze platters and nuts.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
