Mortlach 16 Yıl

Mortlach 16 Year Old Distiller's Dram is a 43.4% ABV, 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Mortlach Distillery, owned by Diageo, in Dufftown, Speyside. It is one of the bottlings that best reflects the distillery's rich, dark, sherry-forward character.

What makes Distiller's Dram different?

The whisky matures through a combination of first-fill and refill sherry casks. This mix gives a wide sherry range, from dark, intense dried fruit to full, juicy red fruit. Whisky enthusiasts often compare it to the now-discontinued and much-loved 16-year-old Mortlach from the Flora & Fauna range; Distiller's Dram stands out as a more balanced interpretation.

What does Mortlach 16 Year Old taste like?

The nose shows lightly scorched raisin, apple pie and dark fruit cake; boiled apple, dark sugar, rich spice, cinnamon, date and chocolate accompany it. The palate is rich and intense: brown sugar syrup mingled with raisin and apple, a light cask char, tart apple and pear, dark oloroso notes and dark chocolate sauce; menthol and clove hide in the background. On the finish, mint and menthol transform into chocolate-covered raisin.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water. It offers a rich match with lamb, grilled red meat and dark chocolate desserts.
