Absolut Mandrin

Absolut Mandrin is a 40% ABV mandarin-flavoured vodka produced and bottled in the village of Åhus, Sweden. Launched in 1999 by Absolut, part of Pernod Ricard, this vodka is flavoured with mandarin and orange essences. As with Absolut's other flavoured products, the flavour is naturally sourced and the base is vodka made from Swedish winter wheat.

What does Absolut Mandrin taste like?

The producer describes this vodka as bright and citrus-forward, carrying the distinct taste of freshly peeled mandarin. According to Absolut's sensory analyst, mandarin leads on the palate, accompanied by orange notes in the background, with an overall round, sweetish structure. The brand ambassador likens the taste to freshly squeezed orange juice.

How should it be served?

In its simplest form it can be made as a long drink with plenty of ice and soda. A Screwdriver made with orange juice, a simple long drink mixed with ginger ale, and Absolut Mandrin Punch made with pineapple juice and ginger ale are among the producer's recommended serves. A mule made with ginger beer and lime juice also carries the citrus character well.

What does Absolut Mandrin pair well with?

Mandarin and orange notes pair well with desserts often matched with citrus. Orange-topped dark chocolate, fruit cakes and fresh fruit platters pair well alongside it as a chilled long drink.
