Grant's Smoky

Grant's Smoky is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky from William Grant & Sons's Grant's range, prepared with an increased proportion of peated whiskies. In some markets it is also sold as Grant's Triple Wood Smoky.

What sets Grant's Smoky apart?

Grant's master blender Brian Kinsman selects grain and malt whiskies matured in three different types of wood for this whisky, just as he does for the Triple Wood blend; the difference is that more peated whisky is added to the blend. This preserves Grant's soft, fruity character while adding a distinct but measured layer of smoke in the background. It can be seen as a gentle introduction for those new to smoky whiskies.

What does Grant's Smoky taste like?

A pronounced smoke aroma on the nose is joined by fruit, malted oats and roasted almond. On the palate, the initial smoke soon gives way to a soft, sweet fruitiness and light citrus. On the finish, the smoke returns with a velvety softness, leaving a lightly dry tannic sensation.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as an extended highball with soda or ginger ale. Its smoky character pairs naturally with barbecued food, grilled red meat and mature cheeses.
