Gibson's Gin & Tonic

Gibson's Gin & Tonic is a carbonated, 5% ABV ready-to-drink cocktail combining Gibson's London Dry gin, from French group La Martiniquaise-Bardinet, with tonic. According to product information, it is produced in France; it is the brand's first product in the ready-to-drink cocktail category and is sold in a can.

What is in it?

According to the ratio given on the label, about 87.7% of the drink is tonic, with the remaining 12.3% being 37.5% ABV London Dry gin. The tonic portion consists of water, sugar, carbon dioxide, citric acid and natural quinine flavour. The underlying Gibson's London Dry is made with grain alcohol, juniper, coriander, angelica root and orange peel.

What does Gibson's Gin & Tonic taste like?

The producer describes this ready-to-drink cocktail as a refreshing gin and tonic carrying the natural touches of juniper, coriander and citrus. Quinine from the tonic adds a light bitterness.

How is it served?

It should be well chilled in the fridge and served from the can or over ice in a glass. In keeping with gin-and-tonic tradition, it can be garnished with a slice of lemon, lime or cucumber. As it needs no measuring or mixing, it is practical for settings such as picnics and garden gatherings.

What does Gibson's Gin & Tonic pair with?

A classic gin and tonic with juniper and quinine character is well balanced by fish and seafood, light meze and green salads. It can also be chosen as an aperitif with salted snacks; quinine's light bitterness balances the greasiness of fried food.
