Beefeater Gin & Tonic

Beefeater Gin & Tonic is a carbonated, 4.9% ABV ready-to-drink cocktail combining Beefeater London Dry gin with tonic. It is offered under the Beefeater brand within the Pernod Ricard portfolio; according to product information, it is canned in the Netherlands by Refresco.

What is in it?

According to the ingredient list on the label, the drink is made up of about 87.7% tonic and 12.3% 37.5% ABV London Dry gin. The tonic portion consists of water, sugar, carbon dioxide, citric acid as an acidity regulator, and natural quinine flavour. The underlying Beefeater is made with grain alcohol, juniper, coriander, angelica root and orange peel, and is labelled suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets. The Beefeater base is a well-known representative of the classic, juniper-forward London Dry style.

What does Beefeater Gin & Tonic taste like?

According to the product description, a fresh aroma is followed by the pronounced taste of juniper, citrus and quinine. It offers a refreshing drink with light bitterness from the tonic softened by sugar; because its alcohol content is lower, it is lighter than a classic bar gin and tonic.

How is it served, and what does it pair with?

It can be well chilled in the fridge and served from the can or over ice in a glass with a slice of lemon or lime. In keeping with gin-and-tonic tradition, it pairs well with fish and seafood, light meze and green salads.
