Garrone Rosso

Garrone Rosso is the spiced red vermouth of the Turin-based Garrone brand. It is made from a blend of white wine and selected aromatic herbs; its distinctive brownish-red colour comes from the addition of refined caramel. The alcohol strength stated by the producer is 16% or 14.4%, depending on the market.

What does Garrone Rosso taste like?

The producer describes its colour as bright red, its nose as fruity and balanced, and its taste as delicate and sweet. Ingredients such as wormwood, cardamom and orange give this sweet vermouth a spiced depth. Its sweet character also makes it suitable for drinking neat over ice. Garrone offers Rosso in 50, 75 and 100 cl bottles.

How is it served?

As in Piedmont tradition, it can be served as an aperitif with ice and an orange slice. Red vermouth is one of the core ingredients of classic cocktails such as Negroni, Americano and Manhattan; Garrone also includes these classics among its cocktail suggestions.

What food does it pair with?

Its sweet, fruity character is balanced by salty aperitif snacks. Olives, cured meats, mature cheeses and small meze plates go well alongside Garrone Rosso.
