Cinzano Bianco is a 15% ABV white vermouth from the Cinzano brand, whose roots go back to 1757 in Turin. The brand was born in the herbalist shop of brothers Giovanni Giacomo and Carlo Stefano Cinzano in Turin; it now belongs to Gruppo Caffo 1915. Bianco is made by flavouring white wine with wormwood, cinnamon, cloves, citrus and gentian, among other botanicals and spices.
What does Cinzano Bianco taste like?
It is clear, pale gold in the glass. Its nose is lively and fresh, with intense citrus notes joined by a fine herbal touch. On the palate, light sweetness is balanced with a light bitterness; vanilla, cinnamon and citrus flavours add depth. The finish is long and refreshing, leaving traces of citrus and herbs.
How is it served?
It can be drunk neat over ice or as an aperitif with a little soda. A Bianco Tonic made with tonic and a lemon slice is a refreshing long drink; it is also used as a vermouth component in cocktails. Keeping it refrigerated after opening helps preserve its freshness.
What food does it pair with?
Its light, refreshing character suits summer tables: grilled fish, fresh salads, light cheeses and antipasti platters go well alongside Cinzano Bianco.
