Garrone Bitter

Garrone Bitter is a dark red bitter aperitif from Turin-based vermouth brand Garrone. The producer traces the history of bitters back to medieval elixirs and 18th-century Venetian blends made with spices from the Far East; drawing on this family tradition, Garrone Bitter is today positioned primarily as a cocktail ingredient. The alcohol strength stated by the producer is 21% or 25%, depending on the market.

How is it used?

Like classic Italian bitters, Garrone Bitter is used mostly in aperitif drinks. It can be lengthened over ice with soda and an orange slice; it also serves as the bitter component in classic cocktails such as Negroni and Americano, or in spritz-style drinks made with sparkling wine.
