Efes Malt is a 5% ABV, 100% malt lager beer produced in Turkey by Anadolu Efes. According to the producer it is brewed from a balanced blend of four different barley malts, from which it draws its distinctive malt flavour. Anadolu Efes is the company that began brewing beer in 1969 and is today Turkey's leading beer producer.
What does Efes Malt taste like?
Efes Malt has a more pronounced malt character than standard lagers of the same strength. According to the producer's description it has a malty, soft and refreshing drink. Because it is brewed entirely from malt, no supplementary grains such as corn or rice are used in the recipe.
How should it be served?
It is recommended to serve it chilled to around 4–6 °C. Pouring at a slight angle into the glass and leaving a two-finger head of foam brings out the malt aroma more clearly. It can also be drunk from the bottle or can, though pouring into a glass opens up the malt aroma better.
What does Efes Malt pair well with?
Its malty, soft character pairs well with grilled and barbecue flavours. Meats such as köfte, chicken skewers and butcher's sausage, along with meze platters and salty snacks, are good matches.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
