Tuborg Special is a high-strength 7.5% ABV lager beer produced by Türk Tuborg at its İzmir plant. It is also popularly known as "Kırmızı Tuborg" (Red Tuborg) for the red colour of its packaging. According to Türk Tuborg, Tuborg Special is the first high-strength beer on the Turkish beer market.
What kind of beer is Tuborg Special?
Tuborg Special sits in the strong lager class thanks to an alcohol content noticeably higher than standard lagers. In this style the body is fuller and the drink fuller and harder; the warmth of the alcohol is felt on the palate. Türk Tuborg has brewed beer at its İzmir plant since 1969.
How should it be served?
It is served cold; as an overly icy temperature can mute the malt aroma in strong lagers, refrigerator-cold is enough. Given its high alcohol content, slow sipping and moderate consumption are recommended. Pouring into a wide-mouthed glass brings out the malt aroma more clearly.
What does Tuborg Special pair well with?
Its full, strong character is balanced by richly flavoured dishes. Barbecued meats, kebabs and spiced plates are good matches. Mature yellow cheeses are also a good accompaniment to this beer.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
