What kind of beer is Amsterdam Navigator?

Navigator sits in the "strong lager" class thanks to an alcohol content noticeably higher than standard lagers. In this style, malt takes the lead; the body is fuller, the drink heavier, and the warmth of the alcohol is felt on the palate. Although it is a pale lager, its high strength makes it suited to slow sipping.

How should it be served?

It is served cold, though with high-strength lagers an overly icy temperature can mute the malt aroma, so a refrigerator-cold serve is enough. Poured into a glass, its foam and colour are better appreciated. Given its high alcohol content, moderate consumption and alternating with a glass of water are recommended.

What does Amsterdam Navigator pair well with?

Its full body and malt-forward character are balanced by richly flavoured dishes. Barbecued meats, kebab-style dishes and spiced plates are good matches. Light salads or delicate seafood can be overshadowed by this strong beer.
