Beck's is a 5% ABV German-style pilsner beer produced under licence in Turkey by Anadolu Efes. The brand traces back to the brewery founded in 1873 in Bremen, Germany, by Heinrich Beck and his partners, and today belongs to AB InBev. When the Bremen brewery was sold to Interbrew in 2001, it was Germany's fourth-largest beer producer.
What does Beck's taste like?
It is a golden-coloured beer with a full, dense foam head. According to the brand's description, a fresh bouquet of hops is felt on the nose; the palate offers a crisp, dry, clean drink with a light fruitiness and a pronounced bitterness. Beck's is known for being brewed to a simple recipe of barley malt, hops, yeast and water.
How should it be served?
It is served well chilled, poured into a clean, dry glass. Pilsner-style beers hold their foam and carbonation better in tall, narrow glasses. Drinking straight from the bottle is also a common habit.
What does Beck's pair well with?
Its dry, hoppy character balances fatty and salty foods. Pizza and pasta, grilled chicken, barbecue flavours such as sausage and meatballs, along with nuts and savoury snacks, are classic pairings.

- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
