Bacardi Razz is a 27% ABV rum-based flavoured drink made by blending Bacardi's white rum with raspberry flavouring. In some markets it is sold as Bacardi Raspberry; the bottle sold in Europe states Puerto Rico as its origin.
What does Bacardi Razz taste like?
The brand describes the product as a crisp blend of white rum and raspberry, poised between sweet and tart. Ripe raspberry and a light citrus note lead on the nose; on the palate, the sweetness of blackberry-like dark fruit is balanced by the raspberry's light tartness. The rum base stays soft in the background.
How should it be served?
Bacardi Razz is designed for fruity cocktails such as a raspberry mojito. Mixed over ice with lemonade, lemon soda, cranberry juice or soda, it makes an easy long drink, which can be garnished with a slice of lemon and a few fresh raspberries. Adding mint leaves gives a fresh result close to a raspberry mojito.
Which desserts does it pair well with?
Its red-fruit character pairs well with fruit desserts, particularly raspberry cheesecake, tart or pavlova. Dark chocolate desserts also make a pleasant contrast with the raspberry's tartness.
