Captain Morgan White is a white rum at 37.5% ABV, made by blending select Caribbean rums under Diageo's Captain Morgan brand. The brand describes it as the sweetest and smoothest rum in the range.
How is Captain Morgan White made?
This clear rum goes through a five-times distillation process, giving it a clean, smooth and lightly sweet character. Its colourless appearance means it adds aroma without changing the look of drinks made with fruit juices and soft drinks.
What does it taste like?
Its aroma is lightly fruity, with sugar cane, citrus and a touch of vanilla detectable. On the palate a soft, pleasant sweetness stands out, along with light tropical flavours, coconut and very light spice. The finish is short to medium in length, clean and refreshing.
How is it served?
It's an easy base for classic rum cocktails such as the Mojito, Daiquiri, Piña Colada and Cuba Libre. It can also be served as a simple long drink over ice with cola and a slice of lime.
Which foods does it pair with?
Its light, refreshing character goes well with grilled fish, prawns and lemony seafood dishes. It's also a pleasant accompaniment to fruit desserts, sorbets and pineapple-based sweets.
