Old Captain Caribbean White is a white rum at 37.5% ABV from the Old Captain brand of Boomsma Distillery in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. It is a balanced blend of light rums from various Caribbean islands. Alongside the white rum, the Old Captain range also includes a darker brown rum and a spiced version.
What does Old Captain White taste like?
According to the producer's description, it has a lightly sweet, fruity aroma. This aroma combines pleasantly with a smooth drinking experience, and the rum finishes with a nice, dry ending. The brand's story traces the blend's inspiration to an adventurous captain drawing on rums from Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, Puerto Rico and Trinidad.
How is it served?
It can be drunk neat, over ice or in cocktails. Its light, dry structure provides a suitable base for the Mojito, Daiquiri and fruit juice-based long drinks; a simple serve can also be made with cola and a slice of lime.
Which foods does it pair with?
Its fruity, light character goes well with light dishes made with grilled fish and seafood. On the sweet side, pineapple or tropical fruit desserts make a fitting accompaniment.
